Social to business networking...

I have personally been successful at several businesses in my life and now I'm retired and want to help others do the same thing. All of my entities were either solely operated, hiring and outsourcing and/or building a client base. I was successful in the way of making money.  I was unsuccessful in the way of knowing what to do with it, unlike I do today. This came as a result of coming of age in the 1970's when black people just could not get the jobs and when we did we were the last hired and the first fired.  Not much of that has changed today.

Back then we did not have social media, it was all door knocking and making real social connections. Today you have it easy if you just know how to utilize it. Today you have it better!  You have an incredible reach with the click of a mouse to a global community.  Social media is not social if all you are doing is talking at people and not talking to people. That is why I created this network.

The current dominent society have determined what it takes to run a business and what is needed to attract customers. If you want to attract those clients , you will need to present and promote what is expected of a business in their eyes.  For example, professional websites, professional email accounts and not one from the free email services. Even if you are a start up, you must put forth a great deal of capital and present a professional image.

For us, many of us, this is not a possibile without help and we don't want to go into debt with loans for a venture that may or may not succeed. Many of us are discovering crowd funding as a viable option. Us verses them.  We look at crowd funding as a viable option for raising money by using sites such as YouCare an GoFundme.  They create 501 charitable organizations.  Crowd funding does not shield the giver from fraudulent activity like the 501. With the 501 contributors have legal recourse if the funds are not used for purpose intended, they can take tax deductions and the owner of the 501 can receive government funding.

I believe in crowd funding and using free resources to get started, but I also believe you must have faith in the owner of the crowd funding account.  Too many in our community are great orators and know how to get people to invest, but do not follow through on promises made. As a result much trust is lost for those really trying to do something valid and significant.

Back to utilizing social media....Stop falling for people talking at you and start focusing on people talking to you. Watching Youtube videos of people making promises of what they will do for you with your support is not how crowd funding should be utilized.  In addition, supporting black business is not paying others to live better than you can afford to live.  Every time you spend your money, where ever you spend your money, you have every right to expect something in return, even if it's to benefit others as well.  We have created a community just for that reason.  We want to earn your trust.  You will find the link under "Projects" to join our community.  Let's get to know one another socially before doing business together.
